THE UNIFORM. X Marks The Spot

Launching collections with some of the biggest names in popular culture is something of a defining hallmark of the adidas Originals brand. With an alumni that includes the likes of Pharell Williams and Rita Ora, adidas Originals has given us some of the world’s strongest fashion collaborations to date. However, for their latest collection the brand has gone back to their roots by channeling their own inner star and focusing on the cut that made them so iconic in first place.

Enter XBYO, a collection that aims to unite the brands past, present and future, inspired by a simple cross motif that was the identity of their first ever apparel collection back in 1959. The minimal symbol makes a bold statement appearing on each piece simply as you would expect from renowned Japanese pattern maker Satomi Nakamura who’s work focuses on sharp cuts and understated cool. Constructed from a premium Japanese terry cotton the collection lays the foundation for chic contemporary style and ushers in a new generation of understated, season less, wardrobe essentials.

Launching this month on, Sand & Smoke has joined forces with the region’s coolest contemporary e-tailer to showcase some of our favourite pieces from the XBYO collection. Check out our edit below of the pieces that are guaranteed to keep you stylish, whether you are working up a sweat or just working on your street cred.
